Kicks 4 Kids first organized a soccer tournament in Hershey, Pennsylvania in July of 2000.  A group of Penn State fraternity brothers who had extensive experience as soccer players, coaches and referees ran the tournament as a fundraising event for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps, one of the designated charities for their national chapter.

Now known as the Hershey Invitational, the event has been held annually for the last 10 years.  It has grown from 4 teams in 2000 to 220 teams in 2008.  In 2006 a second tournament, the Penn State 8 v 8, was added.  The Penn State 8 v 8 appears to be on track to match the Hershey Invitational’s growth.  The 2006 tournament had 4 teams and two years later the 2008 tournament had 101 teams.

In February of 2007 the company filed Articles of Incorporation with the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  In January of 2008 Kicks 4 Kids received official status as a 501 c 3 by the Internal Revenue Service.
